Graduate School of Social Service Administration

Graduate School of Social Service Administration is the first national graduate school in Japan with the aim of training the welfare professionals in this new century. Graduate School of Social Service Administration was founded in 2002 and offers a Master's program to meet the rapidly changing and growing needs of today's society.

The objective of Graduate School of Social Service Administration is to be able to plan and promote welfare policies and social work. The curriculum of Graduate School of Social Service Administration is interdisciplinary. Employing a social welfare perspective to integrate traditional disciplines such as political science, psychology, economics, business administration, laws, sociology...etc.

The system of teaching and research in Graduate School of Social Service Administration is composed of the following three groups of subjects.

Introductory subjects
Subjects to learn methodology and a framework for studying Social Service Administration.
Special subjects
 This group is composed of following three fields.
Macro Ex. Social policy, Social security, Law related to social service administration.
Mezzo Ex. Community based -social work, Planning of Social services, Management of social services
Micro Ex. Social work for disabled people, Social work for elderly people, Psychiatric social work
 All students must take at least one subject from every field. We expect all students to study social issues by widely and various approach.
Instruction of master thesis
Seminar classes to complete the master’s thesis of each student
